Huge thanks and many congratulations to our dementia café volunteers who were shortlisted for Volunteer Team of the year at Greenham Trust Charity Awards on Thursday 7th November.
We are seeing more and more people living with dementia visiting Fair Close. These individuals often attend our Dementia Café with family carers and enjoy Fair Close’s delicious lunches.
Our Dementia Café sessions run on the 1st and 2nd Wednesdays of the month and we also run a Carers Support Group session on the 4th Wednesday.
We plan to set up a new Dementia respite service, The Camelia Club, early in the new year to meet the growing demand. This will provide outstanding day care for those living with early to moderate stages of dementia as well as providing very important respite for carers. It will be run 2 to 3 days per week within the newly renovated lounge space.
We are very proud of the Fair Close family and our work together to help ensure West Berkshire continues to be a good place to grow old well.
